Domaine de Cournet-Haut, set in the picturesque Dordogne Valley, is a 17th century lodge set on 13 acres of beautiful gardens, lush lawns and bright mature forest. The domain was charmingly restored over 30 years ago by Hélène and Emmanuel Pichon-Varin into a self-catering holiday residence, consisting of 3 traditional stone houses and 6 woodland chalets.

We have just finished restoring the seminar / function room. It is now available to book all year round thanks to the new wood burning stove. And with its new bright open interior it is perfect for functions for up to 20 people.
We have recently purchased a large range of new bikes, and also a number of child carrier seats. A great way to explore the peaceful countryside with all the family.
Domaine de Cournet-Haut is now on Facebook and Twitter. Why not join us there today?

Yes, we always considered this as an essential element for a successful holiday. Therefore, the 9 houses are spread out over 13 acres of forest and gardens. The houses are well spaced apart without any vis-à-vis to preserve everyone's intimacy.
The furthest chalet ("Le Saule") is 120m from the pool and can be accessed via a peaceful forest track.
Unfortunately not, because the Domain is set on a hillside with steep slopes and it would be dangerous to cycle on them. However, you are free to borrow the bikes any time you want to cycle on the roads and we can recommend numerous nice trips in the area.
Yes, each house is equipped with an ironing board and an iron.
Yes, each house is equipped with a hair dryer.
We have pets ourselves and would be very happy to welcome yours; as long as they are clean, well-behaved and not aggressive (there are a lot of children on the Domain).
Unlike many holiday resorts, we won't charge you extra for bringing your pet; we will simply ask you to ensure it respects the house and the Domain.
The small village of Saint Pompon is 900m far from Cournet-Haut. Besides its charm, it offers all the basics you will need for your shopping: a bakery, a butcher's, a small grocery shop, a chemist, 2 cafés, post office/tourist information and a petrol station. In the village and nearby, there are a number of restaurants.
There is a market in the village every Friday morning and from June to September, the Saturday gourmet night markets always encounter a great success.
